Well where do I start? :) What an awesome bunch we had this year - I think I will start with our thankyou's!
Candice McDonald - Did anyone get a picture of Candice running around on that tiny little bike - zipping around everywhere and being 3 months pregnant and queasy? :) what a champ! Thankyou so much for organising the coaches, program and jumping castle, craft and everything in between - YOUR A LEGEND!!!
Coaches - Our two interstate coaches Fiona Fehlburg - thanks Fiona once again for your cross country adventures and Clem Smith thankyou so much for your jumping adventures - I do believe these two had to deal with quite a few frisky horses and some gutsy riders but all went well. And of course our wonderful local coaches who gave up their time to join our camp and teach - Vanessa Lines (Jumping ) , Brian Davidge ( horse ball and lead line) , Natasha Clayton (horse ball and lead line ) , Priscilla Leeson (barrels and horsemanship ), Jenny Jones ( Dressage) , Sandy Wooderson ( Lead line) , Ashley Driver (lead line helper ) Sophie Cleveland (lead line trail rider ).
Sponsors
#PCANT helped financially, helping us with airfares for our interstate coaches - Thankyou so much PCANT.
Bees Creek Primary School - Donated some of our craft materials which was a huge hit and a huge mess :)
Humpty Doo Butchers - Donated a $50 voucher for a raffle which we will be selling tickets for so keep an eye out for this raffle :)
Freds pass reserve - grounds were amazing - cleaned up around our cross country jumps and made our stay very pleasant with the beautiful kept grounds - we are so very very lucky to have these premises to ride on!
PoloX - A HUGE thankyou for the lend of your stables, and clubhouse its a great area to have our camp and this is so so very appreciated!
Darwin Castles and Slides - Jump castle - Gave us a very generous discount on the castle and it was a huge hit so this will have to be a new fixture to camp I am thinking :)
Saddleworld NT - Lancia gave us a super, super discount on our prizes so make sure you thank her next time in the shop (which I am sure will be soon with all our shows coming up ).
I hope I have remembered everyone :)
Campers and riders - Well what can I say - I was so proud of all our kids - I reckon its the best camp with behavior and helpers - I saw all the kids with big smiles and all getting along very well even on the last day which can be tricky with exhaustion kicking in - I have spoken to Freds Pass Reserve and they are impressed on how clean we left the facilities, stables, indoor arena and camp area - SO a big thankyou to you all. Pack up this year was so much better and appreciate this very much .
Kitchen - Thankyou to everyone that helped we catered for 120 people this year and that is a huge effort with one stove and one BBQ - I not only had the rostered people on but had people just coming in and giving a hand when they could - so thankyou very much!
Extra meals - there are a few people that were going to pay for extra meals. If you could send an email and I can give you bank details to deposit this - if you had kids or husband dropping in for a meal there was a few there that didn't pay so this would be appreciated so that we can offer this next year as I know sometimes its difficult to know when family may visit - so I do allocate extra for this as a help to you all but if not used properly we may need to cancel this next year and be fixed on numbers.
Stables - I think would be our only downfall to the start of camp but I think all got sorted out - The general rule is that you cannot put a rug, bucket, name tag or anything on the stables to Barr them :) Camp will start and will simply be when you arrive with your horse you then pick a stable and set your horse up - we had people moving peoples equipment and borrowing buckets etc so just need to be mindful of this - but this of course this will be something to learn from for our next camp and see if we can run this side of things better :)
Feedback - We would love any feed back - even constructive criticism as this is how we learn to run the event better each year. We took in last years suggestions and hoped that worked - Just need to remember its not rally days so groups are picked more for groups of friends not always ability.
Well I think that's long enough - thankyou , thankyou everyone for making 2016 #NHPC Camp such a success and thankyou for enjoying your stay its such an awesome experience to see so many kids having so much fun :) Bring on 2017 Camp!
